Eminem, Dr. Dre, Kendrick Lamar, Snoop Dogg & 50 Cent: Pepsi Super Bowl LII halftime show
It was an epic battle between two of the biggest names in rap music as Eminem and Dr. Dre faced off against Kendrick Lamar and Snoop Dogg. The halftime show was everything that you could have hoped for and more. From incredible performances by each artist to stunning visuals, this battle of the generations was a real treat for fans of all ages. If you weren’t there, don’t worry—we have the perfect recap for you.
Eminem
It was clear that these five artists had a lot of chemistry performing together on stage at the Pepsi Super Bowl LII halftime show. Eminem, Dr. Dre and Kendrick Lamar each took turns sharing verses on some of their most popular songs, while Snoop Dogg and Cent both brought their own unique talents to the performance. The crowd went wild as they performed hits like “The Way I Am” by Eminem and “Murder Was The Case” by Dr. Dre, complete with laser light shows and pyrotechnics.
Cent also took the opportunity to pay tribute to his deceased friend Tupac Shakur during his performance of “Hit ‘Em Up.” The song became even more poignant given that it was just days after Shakur’s death in 1996. It was clear that this performance had a lot of meaning for all involved and it was an amazing display of musical talent from everyone involved.
Dr. Dre
As the halftime show for Super Bowl LII got underway, fans of several rap superstars were eagerly awaiting the performance. Eminem was headlining the show, and Dr. Dre was one of his collaborators. Meanwhile, Kendrick Lamar and Snoop Dogg were both joined by Cent on stage for some songs.
The show began with a snippet from “Lose Yourself” by Eminem, as he made his way onto the field. He then performed a medley of hits including “Berzerk,” “The Real Slim Shady,” and “Not Afraid.” As the performance went on, Dr. Dre took to the stage to join in on some songs with Eminem. The duo even performed their classic collaboration “Forgot About Dre.”
Meanwhile, Lamar and Dogg performed a few tracks together including “Bitch Bad,” ”That’s My Word” and “Gin & Juice.” Cent also had a moment in the spotlight during the performance when he duetted with Lamar on “HUMBLE.” The show ended with all four performers taking part in an epic rendition of Tupac’s hit song “Changes.”
Kendrick Lamar
Kendrick Lamar is a critically acclaimed rapper and songwriter who has won multiple awards including two Grammy Awards. He is also known for his powerful and emotive lyrical content. In 2018, he was the first rapper to win a Pulitzer Prize for music.
At the Pepsi Super Bowl LII halftime show, Lamar performed two of his most famous songs “Humble” and “Loyalty”. The performance received rave reviews from critics and spectators alike. His powerful and emotive lyrics were on full display throughout the performance, giving viewers an insight into his personal life and struggles.
Lamar’s collaboration with other musical icons such as Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg was a highlight of the show. They performed together on the song “One Shot”, which marked their first time working together in over 20 years. The song was well-received by fans and critics alike, with many praising its catchy beats and nostalgic feel.
Snoop Dogg
Snoop Dogg, Eminem, Dr. Dre, Kendrick Lamar, and Cent took the stage at halftime of Super Bowl LII to deliver an unforgettable performance.
The lineup was a surprise to many, but it proved to be a perfect fit for Pepsi’s notoriously eccentric halftime show formula. Each artist delivered an impressive set that mixed classic tracks with newer material.
Cent was the biggest standout of the night. The rapper effortlessly transitioned between old and new material, proving that he has no limitations as an artist. His energetic performance was a major highlight of the show.
While Snoop Dogg and Eminem were both admirable performers, they didn’t quite live up to the standards set by their predecessors. This is likely attributable to their age – Snoop is 47 years old and Eminem is 48 – which may have limited their range and improvisational abilities. It’s clear that these legends still have plenty of energy left in them, though, and they proved that once again with their incredible performance at Super Bowl LII.
50 Cent
Eminem, Dr. Dre, Kendrick Lamar, Snoop Dogg and Cent took the stage at halftime of Super Bowl LII to perform their track “Not Afraid”. The performance was a tribute to the late Notorious B.I.G., who was also featured on the track.
The song received a standing ovation from the crowd and it was clear that everyone involved was feeling it. Eminem and Dre were clearly enjoying themselves and kept giving each other high-fives throughout the performance. Lamar played up his preacher persona with some powerful lyrics, while Snoop Dogg performed his hit “Drop It Like It’s Hot” with a gospel choir backing him up.
Cent came out to raucous cheers from the crowd and delivered an impressive performance on his own. He performed several tracks from his latest album “Humble”, including fan-favorite “I’m The Man”. Overall, the halftime show was a fun and energetic tribute to one of rap’s most iconic figures.
